- The Infirmary. Taelia has set up a makeshift infirmary to treat the victims of the Wraiths and help them recover. As new Wraiths are defeated and return to their original Neopet forms, they appear in the tent. Each patient is only available for a limited time, once they are fully cured the associated step and achievements are retired.
- The Neopian Hospital is where you can take your sick pets to find out what medicine will cure them. Strangely enough for a hospital, it has no doctors, nurses, or patients, and does not heal anyone. The hospital will diagnose your pet's illness.
- The Neolodge. The Neolodge, often simply called 'the lodge', is a system of hotels that will accommodate your pets for one to twenty-eight days at many price ranges; there are ten hotels available, ranging from the one-star economy hotel Cockroach Towers at five Neopoints per night all the way to the five-star AstroVilla at five hundred Neopoints per night!
At around 60cm, Gelerts are medium-sized Neopets. Gelerts are famed for their sense of loyalty and friendship. The Gelert is a furry Neopet and a quadruped, meaning it walks on four paws. It is easily recognised by its long, bendy ears and tail that end in sharp points. Like the Lupe, it has a large nose that presumably enhances its sense of smell, but Gelerts and Lupes are both said to dislike it when unwitting humans confuse the two species. The Gelert was introduced to Neopia on the 25th day of Sleeping, Year Two (known to non-Neopians as January 25th, 2000). At that time, it was a much chubbier Neopet than today, and wore a collar similar to the Aisha's. Adam and Donna initially named it the Polypup, and were very enthusiastic about its pointy ears and tail. The slogan adopted in the News was 'It's like a puppy, but it's pointy!'
Later, the pet was redrawn to give it a more streamlined look and lengthen its ears. With the loyalty of the species becoming well-known, the Polypup was renamed Gelert. Since then, the basic appearance of the Gelert has remained much the same to this day.
The name 'Gelert' comes from a Welsh legend, where a dog of that name was the loyal companion of Prince Llywelyn. The dog protected the Prince's child from a wolf, but Llywelyn saw only blood on the dog and that his child was missing. Thinking that Gelert had attacked his child, he slayed his devoted dog. After finding both the dead wolf and his child, safe, Llywelyn was filled with remorse, and buried Gelert with all the honors he could give.

Neopets Hospital List
- Bruno was one of the unfortunate citizens affected by the curse that was placed on the small village of Neovia. He became a strange monster and was forced to hide in a cave until Gilly arrived to solve the mystery. Since the Tale of Woe plot he has been living happily in his hometown once again.
- The Emperor of Shenkuu does not take a large role in world affairs, choosing instead to spend more time looking after his daughters, especially the flighty Lunara. Nevertheless, he is an important figure in Shenkuu, where the entire civilisation seems to revolve around the imperial rulership.
- Gilbert is the farmer who runs the berry-picking patch at Meri Acres. He seems to be quite temperamental—perhaps you would be too if you kept finding dung in your berry bushes.
- Kanrik was a member of the Thieves' Guild until he sided with Hannah in the Ice Caves plot. He claimed to be looking for medicine for his unnamed younger sister; it's never been made clear whether he's successfully managed that task, or if she was ever ill in the first place (he might well have just used her 'sickness' as a cover story). He and Hannah are a popular fan pairing.
- The Spellseeker is the star of the Flash game of the same name. This elderly Gelert is always messing about with inscribed tiles and trying to forge enchantments.
